Our Rooms
When we found this house, it was almost in ruins, yet we fell in love at first sight. Room by room, we brought it back to life, restoring its original architecture, adding modern comforts, and paying attention to every detail to keep its original soul. Casa Kala was even awarded a National Architecture award in 2023 for its renovation.
Today we want to share this dream with you, through its nine rooms, each named for a place we love in Portugal, each one a chapter of the story we've been writing ever since.

Double Room
Cozy and inviting, our ground floor Double Room, Braga, is our most compact room . A comfortable 160cm bed and all the modern comforts you need. The perfect place to relax after a day of exploring.
You'll love the the high ceilings and big windows that flood the room with natural light plus the well-insulated walls, double glazed windows, AC and heating, USB ports, and modern bathroom with shower.
Superior Double Room
Located on the first floor and accessible via staircase, our charming Superior Double Rooms "Lisboa," "Nazare," "Evora," and "Sintra" offer the perfect balance of comfort and character.
Each room features a comfortable 160 cm bed, modern amenities like AC and heating, double glazing, USB ports, and modern bathroom with shower.
The high ceilings and big windows provide plenty of natural light and a peaceful and inviting atmosphere, with views of the surrounding trees and greenery, you'll feel immersed in the tranquility and beauty of your surroundings.
Double Room with Balcony
"Aveiro" is our Double Room with Balcony, located on the first floor and accessible by a beautiful staircase.
Step out onto your private balcony where you can soak up the Portuguese air and enjoy a peaceful view of our garden.
Relax in the comfort of a Queen Size Bed (160 cm) and enjoy the modern amenities like AC and heating, double glazing, USB ports, and a modern bathroom with shower.

Introducing our King Room with Garden View "Porto", located on the ground floor.

King Suite
Our private and quiet King Suite "Algarve" is located on the second floor of Casa Kala, up the original wooden staircase to the first floor, followed by a second private staircase.
Our spacious suite features a comfortable king-size bed (180 cm) and a separate space with queen size sofa bed, offering plenty of space to relax. Enjoy the privacy and tranquility of this unique space. Also Ideal for those travelling together but sleeping apart.

Bungalow with Garden View
Our Bungalow with Garden View, "Madeira", is our newest addition, a private, standalone room set apart in the garden, just steps from the main house but entirely its own.
Though private and set apart, you're never far from the rest of Casa Kala: breakfast is served each morning in our common room, and the whole house and garden are yours to enjoy.
Floor-to-ceiling windows on two sides bring the garden right into the room. The glass is reflective, so no one outside can see in, while from inside you get an open, uninterrupted view of the greenery all around you.
The room has a large king-size bed (180 x 200cm), a private bathroom with shower, double glazing, USB ports, free Wi-Fi, and air conditioning and heating for year-round comfort.
Madeira is the most private room at Casa Kala, a little garden retreat all your own, just steps from the main house but a world away from it.
